Der Joe Turner vom "Joe Turner Blues" hat nichts mit unserem Joe Turner, der 1911 geboren wurde, zu tun. W. C. Handy schrieb diesen Blues bereits im Jahre 1915, da war "unser" Joe Turner erst 4 Jahre alt. Bei Handy's Joe Turner handelt es sich um eine mythische Gestalt aus dem "schwarzen Süden".

Achtung! Es gibt noch einen Jazz-Pianisten namens Joe Turner und vielleicht noch einige andere Namenspatrone. Zum Verwechseln ist also genug Material vorhanden.
