Kurz-Bio:
Der Country-Musiker (Gitarre, Gesang, Banjo, Geige, Harmonika, Mandoline) Roy Clark wurde am 15. April 1933 in Meherrin, Virginia, als Roy Linwood Clark geboren. Von seinem Vater, einen Amateurmusiker, erlernte er die Instrumente. Bis etwa 1955 war er regelmäßig in TV-Shows zu sehen, ging dann auch nach Las Vegas und spielte in diversen Country-Swing-Bands meist die Gitarre. Cirka 1956 erhielt er seine Flug-Lizenz und kaufte sich ein Flugzeug, wohl seine zweite Leidenschaft. 1961 unterschrieb er bei CAPITOL und bereits 1963 stellte sich sein erster Charts-Erfolg ein. Seine ganz großen Erfolge hatte er aber erst ab den späten Sechzigern, als er zu DOT wechselte.
